Abstract

The proteins in the nutrition for farmand pet animals are used fromcereals, legumes, and animalby-products. Animal by-product-derived hydrolysed proteins couldbe used as flavorings, functionalingredients, or amino acid sourcesin animal feed and food technology.This paper aims to discuss theapplications of hydrolysed proteinsderived from animal by-productsfor animals. Available scientific dataindicate that hydrolysates of animalby-products have promisingapplications in animal nutrition asagents improving feed palatability,exhibiting immunomodulatoryeffects, stimulating growth, or asa source of essential amino acidsor nitrogen, or as a source ofmolecules with bioactive potential.
